Dr. Ben Newman has been the pastor of Sandy Level Baptist Church since 1995 and is a native of Camden, South Carolina. Pastor Newman attended Clemson University followed by Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned Master of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. While at Southwestern, he met his wife Shirley, and they now have three grown children, Kristen, Elise and Jeremy. Pastor Newman has served as the pastor of SLBC and in two other churches over the past twenty five years.
A personal note from our pastor:
I find pastoring an exciting challenge. My heart is that people discover a personal relationship with God through a faith commitment to Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord, and then grow in that relationship to become fully devoted followers of Christ. The Christian life is an exciting adventure. I have found through my relationship with the Lord forgiveness for my sins, purpose for my life, and hope for my future. It would be my privilege to help you in your spiritual journey in any way I can.
